(see; http://www.manchestercraftmafia for more info).

More hands collected for All Hands Together To;

1 Apr

Yesterday was Chorlton’s Big Green Festival. The festival is in its third year and just seems to be getting bigger and better. Carol Mowl from Beetlefelt (see http://www.beetlefelt.co.uk) kindly let me set up an activity table under her gazebo to collect some more hands for our 500 years celebration of St C’s. I really enjoyed the chat throughout the workshop and the atmosphere at the festival. I think we must have at least 200 beautiful decorated hands now. Only 300 to go…

New commission for K2 ward

1 Apr

I have been enjoying working with patients in K2 ward at Alder Hey over the last couple of weeks. Lorna, the play worker has commissioned me to create an artwork on the theme of ‘healthy teeth’ so patients and I have been creating lots of pictures and photos to encourage everyone in K2 to look after their teeth. I’m sure we always try to look after our teeth, but since working on this commission I now understand really how important it is for everyone to have healthy teeth, as patients who have problems with their teeth will not be able to have any operations until they are fixed as unhealthy teeth can cause recovery complications post operation!

Over the next month I will be turning all our creations into an artwork collage about ‘healthy teeth’. More to follow….

Being on K2 has also gave me an opportunity to see how a commision from last year; K2’s Noah Ark is working in situ;
