Patchwork and Quilting at Beetlefelt studios

13 Jun

Sadly another Patchwork and Quilting series at Beetlefelt Studios finished on Monday night. But what can I say; we all enjoyed the chat and also got some stitiching done too!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

My Patchwork and Quilting series of four evening classes is a whistle stop introduction to Patchwork and Quilting techniques. Inbetween the chat there are lots of Patchwork demonstrations, with an idea to develop these into a future project.

Lots more creative workshops are on at Beetlefelt studios.

My shop is now open on folksy-again!

29 May

I’ve been stitching two random quilts to sell at my folksy shop. I really love folksy, the ethos behind it and of course all the fabulous makers and their products. Sooooo I thought it was high time that I reactivated my folksy shop and rejoined the community. I call these random quilts because of all the fabrics I have stitched into it-the design, I hope, is rather more considered! I had some ‘extra’ sumptuous velvet from my Harris tweed quilts to use and was inspired by the mixture of fabrics on my shelves that were begging to be stitched together. Here are some pics;

PS As I had some fabric leftover from making the quilts I have made some v.useful drawstring bags to house the quilts in when not in use-as if that will ever happen-well I hope not!

On another note, I have just starting a new Patchwork and Quilting series at Beetlefelt studios.

Have quilt will travel…

4 Apr

Back in Edinburgh for the Easter weekend. Took my new collection of quilts to show the folks. My photographic skills sadly not up to Jo’s superb quilt pics, (see my previous March post) but glad my theory has been proved correct;  that the colourways and style of these gorgeous Harris tweed and velvet quilts do fit in well with the design and decor of everybodys’ homes.
